TMS320F28P559SJ-Q1: DC TZ and CMPSS operation with HRPWM

Part Number: TMS320F28P559SJ-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello  Experts,

Could you please let us know about HRPWM with DC, TZ and CMPSS operation as follows:

1) Trip cannot be reflected in the waveform until it passes through Digital Compare or Trip-Zone. The resolution of these DC and TZ does not increase even HRPWM operation. Am I correct?

2) The input to the HR ePWM from the analogue comparator cannot be with high-resolution.

Best regards,
Sugawara

  • Hello Experts,

    Here is the additional info.

    2) The input to the HR ePWM from the analogue comparator cannot be with high-resolution.
This is intended to invert the output of the PWM accordingly when the comparator turns on.
If a comparator (DCAEVT) occurs while the counter is increasing in the Action-Qualifier module, we are considering the behavior such as dropping OutA and raising OutB.

    Best regards,
    Sugawara

  • Hitoshi Sugawara,

When using CMPSS for CBC tripping ePWM, HRPWM operation is not required since its an analog event which is turning off or tripping the ePWM output. In ePWM module, trip zone block is located at the very end of signal chain so that latency of action is minimum.

    Regards,

    Sumit
