Hello TI team,

I am planning to design a digital control design of buck boost converter. I see TIDM-BUCKBOOST-BIDIR as good starting point for starting the design as my power requirements are also in range of 300W max.

But I see the control scheme implemented is MPPT rather than Current Mode control. My question is can I simply apply the peak current mode control to this design ?

And what challenges one might think of that needs to be taken care before digging into the project?

Hello,

Sorry for late response. I was out of office and this thread was assigned to me while I was out. Adding PCMC to this design will not be as straight forward since you'll need to program the on-chip comparator and PWM trip zones. We don't have a buck-boost design with PCMC, but we do have one for buck only: https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDM-DC-DC-BUCK. You could refer to the firmware for that design to get started with your PCMC implementation.

Hello Martinez,

No issues, I am working on TIDM-DC-DC-BUCK now and I got idea on configuring the pins for implementing PCMC. So with this knowledege I can directly go for modifying the TIDM-BUCKBOOST-BIDIR right or would there be other issues while taking this Buckboost project as reference for PCMC?

From a firmware pov, yes. I have not looked a the HW design for TIDM-BUCKBOOST-BIDIR in a while though. The current sensing design will be key to getting PCMC to work properly.
