Hi All,

I am new to C2000 TI controller and would like to explore the low power modes operation of the TMDSCNCD28379D to lower the power consumption of the controller when the controller is not required for generating any PWM and having sensing through ADC pins. I also would like to operate the controller in the operational mode for generating the PWM and sensing through the ADC pins. The transition from any low power mode to the operational mode and vice versa needs to happen at 100kHz frequency and continuously.

I want to know if the controller is capable of continuous transitioning from any low power mode to the operational mode and vice versa continuously?

Hello Hassan,

TMS320F28379D does support low power modes to reduce power consumption. The controller has several low power modes, including Idle, Standby, Halt and Hibernate modes.

Stevan Duraskovic Thanks for the info. I have went through this literature. I want to ask what is the estimated power consumption of the controller while transitioning from the operational mode to the Standby mode?

Hello Hassan,

For more information please refer to the table 6.5.1 Device Current Consumption at 200-MHz SYSCLK in device datasheet: https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tms320f28379d.pdf. To calculate power, you can multiply current with respective voltage. Hope this helps.
