TMS320F2808: TMS320F2808 Datasheet (Rev. P) – Outdated and Incorrect Package Data

Part Number: TMS320F2808

Tool/software:

We have identified two issues in the current datasheet (Rev. P) for the TMS320F2808:

  1. Outdated Package References:
Pages 1 (Features) and 2 (Device Information) still mention the discontinued GGM and ZGM BGA packages. The currently available GBA and NMF packages are only listed in the addendum, which may lead to confusion.

  2. Incorrect Device Nomenclature:
Figure 11-1 incorrectly states that the GBA package is lead-free. However, the list of orderable part numbers indicates that this is not the case.

Request:
Could you please confirm whether these issues are known and if an updated revision of the datasheet is planned?

Thank you for your support.

I need to check on what our procedure is for this, as you noted we have an addendum that these packages were removed from production, I suspect we have to also mention them in the DS since they were supported, but agree that at the top couple of sections there could be better indication they are removed.

I can say that the packaging info at the end of the DS and the orderable table on TI.com should always reflect the current orderable part numbers.

Agree that this is incorrect, I will file a bug request to get this updated.  Due to the age of this device there are no planned updates pending, but I can at least get these filed and then see when it may be possible to get these updated to TI.com/

    Best,
