TMS320F280039: Unable to "Get Projects" with C2000 IDEA Extension

I've been trying to migrate to CCS v20.0.2 and use the C2000 IDEA extension. I've run into issues though with setting up the C2000 IDEA extension, as if the extension is unresponsive. I'm not sure if this is an application configuration issue, project settings issue or possibly an extension issue.

So far I have been able to create a workspace, add existing projects, create projects and successfully compile these projects (right now I have 3 projects within the workspace). When opening the C200 IDEA extension I navigate to "C2000 IDEA - Features" -> "Project detection" and select "Get Projects". The folder icon on the right responds to a click though I see no notification boxes appear or logs indicating an action is performed. Further more none of the 3 projects get detected and the "C2000 IDEA - Projects" section remains empty. The behaviour is the same when using the command palette (CTRL + SHIFT + P) and running "C2000: Get Projects".

I was hoping to get help in troubleshooting this to see if there's something I'm missing or an issue in how I currently have everything setup. I followed this guide for installation. https://www.ti.com/lit/an/spradl6a/spradl6a.pdf?ts=1753328974788

    Hey Matt,

    I am assigning this to one of our C2000-IDEA project experts. In the meantime, could you please try using this with the latest versions of CCS 20 (v20.2.0)?

    There have been various bug fixes and features enhancements since 20.0.2 as described in the release notes: Release Notes for Code Composer StudioTm

    Could you please help by providing the following information so I can attempt to reproduce the issue on my end:
    1. What version of the IDEA extension are you currently using? Where you downloaded it from?
    2. Which C2000 projects are involved? Do these projects include linker files?

    This information will assist us in debugging the issue more effectively. Additionally, could you please share a screenshot of the IDEA extension panel within CCS to verify whether the extension is activated?

    I'm currently using v0.1.2 of the IDEA extension, downloaded from within the CCS extensions view.

    I've loaded the following three projects.

    - 2ph_il_llc_nonpowerSUITE_F28003x

    - PMBus_Communications_Stack

    - bt4ch_F28003x

    I imported these by going to File -> Create New Project and filtering for the F28003x. At first was using an internal project but when that wasn't working opted for some example projects. This was to, hopefully, rule out the issue being a configuration issue.

    Below is a screenshot of the extension panel with a file from the last project open. It seems the extension is partially working, as the "C2000 Additional Resources" section updates based on the context.


    For OS I'm also using Linux, Fedora 42 to be specific. Figure mention that in case happens to be something OS specific.

    Matthew,

    I am unable to reproduce the issue on my end. I have tested it on both Windows and Linux environments, and it is working as expected.

    Could you please try running any driverlib example for the F280039x device from C2000Ware and check if the same issue persists?
