Hi Team,

We are facing an issue with the C28xx_CPU1 after flashing the code. Within one minute of flashing, we get the following errors.

C28xx_CPU1: Error: (Error -1044 @ 0x0) The debug probe reported an error. Confirm debug probe configuration and connections, reset the debug probe, and retry the operation. (Emulation package 12.7.0.00105)
C28xx_CPU1: Trouble Halting Target CPU: (Error -1135 @ 0x8163B) The debug probe reported an error. Confirm debug probe configuration and connections, reset the debug probe, and retry the operation. (Emulation package 12.7.0.00105)
C28xx_CPU1: Unable to determine target status after 20 attempts
C28xx_CPU1: Failed to remove the debug state from the target before disconnecting. There may still be breakpoint op-codes embedded in program memory. It is recommended that you reset the emulator before you connect and reload your program before you continue debugging.

This issue consistently occurs within one minute of flashing the code. We have verified the hardware connections and the debug probe configuration, and have also tried resetting the probe as suggested, but the issue persists.

Could you please assist us in identifying the root cause and suggest any potential fixes or workarounds? If any additional logs or diagnostic data are needed, we will be happy to provide them.

Thank you for the support. The JTAG connection is successfully established, and I am using the control card for a DC-DC converter with the XDS100 JTAG. The test connection shows as successful.

However, I am facing an issue when testing the PWM output at higher voltages. At 30V, everything works fine, and there is no disconnection. But when operating above 100V, the JTAG gets disconnected within 1 minute.

Could you please assist in resolving this issue?

Yes, we are using our own custom PCB, but we are using the same microcontroller the TMS320F28379D.

Hi,

If you lose JTAG connection due to system noise, this is something that may not be possible to fix without PCB revision.

If noise is causing a problem with the USB connection, you may be able to solve the problem by using a USB cable designed to work in high noise environments. If the noise is causing problems on the JTAG side, you can try reducing JTAG speed, but you may need a PCB revision.

We attempted to use a USB isolator; however, it did not resolve the issue, as we are driving a high-voltage board using PWM at a switching frequency of 100 kHz.We would appreciate any suggestions for a better solution.

Hi,

My only recommendations would be to redo the PCB layout so that the JTAG traces are less susceptible to noise.

To make sure this is your root cause, you can probe the JTAG signals and check noise magnitude with different system conditions.
