When the 28377D dual-core is running, if the code on CPU1 runs abnormally and triggers a watchdog reset, CPU2 will also reset. However, at this time, it is prone to program boot failure and freezing. After the simulator runs online and detects an anomaly in CPU1, CPU2 will also reset. Once CPU2 fails to run, After CPU1 runs abnormally again and triggers a reset, it will get stuck in the initialization function "IPCBootCPU2(C1C2 ROM BOOTMODE BOOT FROM FLASH)". Eventually, neither CPU1 nor CPU2 can boot successfully.

Hi Herbert,

Do you know if your issue is easy to replicate? Is this more of an issue of the software triggering a watchdog reset and not being able to boot up correctly? When you say the simulator runs online and detects anomaly, is this an external controller that is connected to the device? Is the simulator issuing the watchdog reset?

Hi Ozino

It is us who simulated the logic of software triggering a watchdog reset through code. When running with an external control board connected to the emulator, we found that if CPU2 fails to run, it will cause CPU1 to get stuck in the initialization process.
