How to connect Dual Motor Control Kit and Simulink using External Mode

Hello,

I am working with the Dual Motor Control and PFC kit with the F28035 control card. Specifically, I am creating FOC control algorithms with Matlab Simulink and I use the kit to run the algorithms.

I'm trying to use the Simulink tool called External Mode for modify and monitoring the variables of the algorithm (motor speed, phases currents, DC bus voltage, etc.) in real time.


According to the Mathworks documentation, to use the External Mode I need an extra connection with the board, in addition to the XDS100 USB emulator connection. Is this connection via UART connector (serial connector)?
