TMS320F28375D: Can INPUT4-6 be connected to the trip zone via ePWM X-BAR?

Hi All,

X-bar INPUT1~3 are connected to the TZ of the ePWM module.
I cannot tell from the TRM whether INPUT4-6 can be used as a trip zone via ePWM X-BAR.
Please let me know if there is a register setting method or sample code.
According to Figure 9-1, INPUT1 to 6 can be connected to the ePWM X-bar, but can INPUT 7 to 12 also be connected to the ePWM X-bar?

Best Regards,

Ito

  • Hi Ito,

Only INPUTXBAR.INPUT[1:2:3] are conected to TZ[1:2:3] respectfully.

INPUTXBAR.INPUT[4:5:6] are connected to the PWMXBAR and can then be further routed to TRIP[4:12]. INPUTXBAR.INPUT[6] also has a dedcated route to the ePWM Modules without using the PWMXBAR connection.

My initial thought is that it may be possible to allow InputXBAR.[7-12] to essentially "Pass-through" the ECAP and back to the PWMXBAR, but I don't think this use-case has ever been tested.

But, as you've noted there is no direct hardware connection from these INPUTXBAR options to the ePWMX-BAR.

  • Hi Fleenor,

INPUTXBAR.INPUT[4:5:6] are connected to the PWMXBAR and can then be further routed to TRIP[4:12]. INPUTXBAR.INPUT[6] also has a dedcated route to the ePWM Modules without using the PWMXBAR connection.

I understand that INPUT[4:5:6] can be connected to ePWM.
Can INPUT[4:5:6] be connected to TZ?

If this is possible, please tell me how to set it up.

    Best Regards,

    Ito

  • Hey Ito,

Unfortunately, due to the same reasons you've already evaluated, this is not possible with the hardware implementation:

TZ[1:3] can only come from INPUTXBAR[1:3].
