TMS320F280037: I can't use UniFlash to erase or program device

Hi Raphael,

In the first image, it shows unlocking the device was a success.  In the last image, there is the trouble when unlocking the device. Are the default passwords shown correct for unlocking the device, or were the passwords changed? As you said the devices are new, so the default passwords should work when trying to unlock.

Is this behavior consistent for all 5 samples?

As well, what UniFlash version is being used currently?

My UniFlash version is 9.2.0.5300.

Some samples could unlock but still can't program successfully. and some sample can't unlock..

I had check the gel file and the version is 1.00.00.00.

The GEL file should be located in the CCS folder. Will this affect my use of Uniflash for programming?

In addition, I used the same version of Uniflash and the same process to test another sample I have, the F280039CSPZ. It can be programmed, read, and erased normally, without the issues seen with the F280037SPZ.

As a test, using the F280039C ccxml, can you try connecting through the UniFlash GUI and try an erase & program operation?

I can program pass but verify fail.

If the device is unable to be unlocked, there will still be an issue with the Erase operation. Does this occur with the unlocked samples?

Hi Charles,

I think it’s probably a chip issue. After I purchased 5 new pieces and tested them, they all worked fine. However, the part numbers on the good chips are the same as those on the faulty ones, so I’m not sure why the original chips were defective. Do you need me to provide the date codes?

Our customer said they could use other programmer to program those device successfully.
May I ask if you have a recommended programming circuit for using SCI?

Yes if you could provide date codes to me that would be good. 

Do you know what programmer they used to get successful programming? For a programmer using Serial Flash Support for our devices we recommend C-GANG programmer.

I’ll provide the date code later. Currently, the customer is using another programmer, which is an Elnec programmer.

I am using an XDS100V3 with UniFlash, and then connecting it to my adaptor
