TMS320F280039C: BISS-C interface migration from f28p65 to f280039c with C2000 IDEA

Hi Experts,

I am migrating the BISS-C interface form F28P65 to F280039,

I am using the C2000 IDEA the run migration check throughout the lib project, any the only problem is shows is that F280039C is missing:

CLB output latch feature
SPID

Any suggestion how to address these problems? (If changing from SPID to SPIA, what's the change required and if C2000 IDEA can help making the change?)

Hi Hang,

Could you please provide screenshots on what exactly you are seeing and what is missing that you would have maybe expected for both those checks? The migration checks in place are typically at the peripheral feature level, not necessarily for changing peripheral instances as this is very application specific.

Hi Hang,

Are you evaluating BISS-C with LAUNCHXL-F280039C + BOOSTXL-POSMGR? You will need to use SPIB since the boosterpack is designed to fit on site 2 of the LaunchPad (bottom 40-pin header). See the pinout for this LaunchPad here: https://www.ti.com/lit/ml/spruj30/spruj30.pdf

F28P65x and F280039C have the same CLB module peripheral so there will not need to be any adjustments to the CLB logic

Ture. In this case, from a application level, is missing the CLB output latch feature going to affect the migration of the BISS-C interface to F280039?

Hang,

As mentioned by Peter, the CLB on both of these devices are the same, so there should not be any adjustments to the CLB logic.

Seems that this latch feature is on the CLB output X-Bar, not in the CLB logic

While the function contents have changed slightly, the behavior and the inputs naming have not changed, so this is a question here of how an user can catch this? In the case of XBAR_OUTPUT1 there will be no changes, but for the others, I'll look into see if IDEA tool can provide coverage for this or there is a driverlib change.

Hi Peter,

I am actually targeting for custom board instead of TI EVM, nevertheless, they use SPIB too.

I'd like to add for one item for the record. When changing SPI instance, the CLB instances should be change according other wise the output override function does not work. For SPIB, I need to switch to CLB2. I am changing the instances from the original CLB3&4 to CLB1&2.
