InstaSPIN BLDC GUI opening problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE, DRV8312, CCSTUDIO

Hi all,

I'm using DRV8312 piccolo control card based kit for exploring instaspin bldc algorithm. So as a initial thing i thought to start with available GUI by crosshairs. While clicking that GUI exe file it's unable to open and telling an error as it needs to be closed with an error report. I also tried reinstalling the controlsuite and facing the similar problem again. Other GUI's like for sensored BLDC & sensorless BLDC associated with that DRV8312 kit is working fine. Only this instaspin GUI is not opening.

Kindly give suggestions to get out of that issue.

Regards,

Saravanakumar.

  • Hi Saravanakumar,

If the GUI executable shows an error report submission form, we would greatly appreciate if you filled in and sent the report to us. These error reports go directly to Crosshairs Embedded, so our developers will be able to inspect the attached logs etc.

  • Saravana,

The most common issue I've seen here is that the user (you) are working off a network drive.  When the GUI opens it puts some files in your MyDocuments folder that it works off of while open. So if your MyDocuments is on a server it will have a problem.

Crosshairs is about to release a fix for this with their Interface Designer tool.  TI will need to re-build the GUIs with the latest ID tool to fix this problem for users.  This will likely happen in the February controlSUITE release (small chance we get it in the January 15th)

I'm sorry you are having this issue. You will need to control the software through CCStudio WatchWindow following the User Guide

    C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\DRV8312-C2-KIT_v124\InstaSPIN_BLDC\~Doc

  • let me clarify something.

extract the contents of the .zip (I create a dummy folder on my desktop)

    run controlsuite.msi

After a successful installation, you can delete the dummy folder and .zip
