TMS320F28379D: UNIFLASH cannot load program or even erase the flash

Tool/software:

We have several identical circuit card assemblies with 28379D microcontroller installed. We are able to program most of them with UNIFLASH except one board. When we try to load CPU1 program (this is a dual core micro-controller), it gives us "data verification error". The detailed error message shows below. It seems the software also try to access CPU2 at the same time.

We also tried the "Erase Flash" function under the Settings & Utilities, and the system also gives us the error.

In order to debug this, what micro-controller pin signal (power supply, JTAG...) do we need to probe? Thank you in advance!

Hi Kaiyu,

From the error description, it keeps saying that the device is held in reset. If you do a power-on reset, does it resolve the issue for the device?

Are you able to probe the reset pin to see if it is getting stuck low? As well, can you check if a flash operation (Load, Erase, etc.) can go through with verify disabled?

To add on to what Charles mentioned, can you check the power supply of the board and the power delivered to the chip to see if anything is shorted?

Thank you, Charles and Matt! We will probe power supply and reset pin. We were using entire flash erase feature (I assume this doesn't require verification) and it still gave us the error as I mentioned in the original post.

Hi Matt,

We were not able to read the memory. The error message is "Device is held in reset". We will probe the reset pin and get back to you guys
