TMS320F28069: Using X1/X2 Pins as Outputs on TMS320F28069PN

Tool/software:

I am using the TMS320F28069PN controller in my application and have already utilized all available pins. However, I need two additional output pins. Since I am using the internal oscillator, can the X1 and X2 pins be configured as outputs?

Hi Prakyath,

The datasheet states the X1/X2 pins must be tied to GND and left unconnected respectively. There is no GPIO associated with these pins.

Prakyath,

You can use an I2C/general GPIO expander (also known as a multiplexer). In addition, here's another resource you can use: How to Maximize GPIO Usage in C2000 Devices. There are resources on E2E and the internet on selecting and using the right product.
