I am using the newer version of TIDM-DC-DC-BUCK (F280049C launch pad with Buck converter where C9 is depopulated). I read in some thread on this forum that C8 was changed to a different C value with a different ESR in the newer board. I want to make sure the values I have in CCS main.syscfg are correct. The following came with the default project -

Are these values updated or do I need to change anything? (Output C8 Elec Capacitance and it's ESR)

Hi Kamakshi,

The project hasn't been updated to reflect the updated hardware so you will need to make the change manually. The new part for C8 is EEU-FR1E471LB

I don't see the ESR listed on the datasheet. Mouser website says it's 30 mOhms. What ESR did y'all use for C8?

Strange that the ESR is not listed. I'll need to reach out to our training partner Biricha to see what value they used in their software testing. I should hopefully know within the next day or 2

Thank you for reaching out to Biricha and I hope they get back soon.

I couldn't update the capacitance to 470uF in the power stage section of main.syscfg . The parameters are locked (grayed out). How do I update parameters? Do I change it in the Kit.json file?

Hi Kamakshi,

I am still awaiting a response from our contact. There should be a custom option in the SysConfig menu that enables editing the parameters

Where do I find the custom option in SysConfig menu? I couldn't locate it in the GUI with dropdowns and not even on right clicking the main.syscfg file.

Hi Kamakshi,

Sorry for the delay in response. The custom mode can be accessed through the Hardware > Plant option. Currently it is selected as BOOSTXL-BUCKCONV but it can be adjusted to Custom mode to customize the board parameters

I ran into an error when I changed the plant to custom and rebuild the project.

Hi Kamakshi,

It mentions that it is not able to find the Kit.json file. Can you review the searched paths to see what may be missing? There is typically a Kit.json file in the SDK which stores the plant information. Perhaps this did not get copied to your file system correctly
