Hi,

We want to debug our TMS320F28388D remotely with code Composer.

Here our configuration :

Our TMS320F28388D is directly connected to x86 linux mini PC with a usb-jtag converter XDS100v2.
Our x86 could be linked via Ethernet to a windows PC (which have CCS installed).

We want to be able to debug the TMS320F28388D as if we were directly connected to it with the Windows PC with XDS100v2.
As the product is integrated, it is impossible for us to connect directly to the XDS via USB. We need to do this remotely via Ethernet.

Is there any TI tools that we could use to debug our TMS320F28388D remotely with CCS ?

Hello,

I assume you want CCS IDE remote debug.

The best option is to use a debug probe that supports remote debug over ethernet:

You would connect the debug probe directly to the network via ethernet cable. Then the remote PC with CCS can connect to it via IP address.

Otherwise the other option is to have CCS installed on the x86 linux PC directly connected to the F28388D and then the remote PC would connect to the linux PC via VNC or RDE and use CCS that way.

Hi,

We can't use another debug probe.
Is there a third option without installing CCS on the x86 ? It would be too heavy for us.
On Linux, there is uniflash which can be used for flashing a f2838.
Don't you have a similar tool for debugging ?

CCS is the primary tool for debugging.

The only other option is the DSS Test Server:

However, that is mainly for automated testing from the command-line. I assume you want manual IDE debug.
