TMS320F28P559SJ-Q1: CLA runs slower in LS8 and LS9 RAM

Hi Joe,

I don’t believe there should be a difference between execution time for CLA program memory across the different LSRAMs. A couple things to check:

Is the exact same code being run in each case (there are no conditional statements that could alter the timing of code execution)? Also, can they check the map file to verify that the task is using the same amount of memory in each case? It would also help me to see their map file if they are willing to share.

One thing to verify with them: are they using separate addresses for LOAD and RUN for the Cla1Prog in the linker cmd file? This is a change that needs to be made to properly allocate CLA program memory to LS8/9 and doesn't seem to be there based on the diff images. The linker cmd needs something like the below where RAMLS8_9 is the CPU-side memory range (0x14000-0x17FFF) and RAMLS8_9_CLA is the CLA-side memory range (0x4000-0x7FFF).

I shared 2 cmd files through email with you:

The NG.txt shows the configuration that PWM interrupt can not be triggered;

The OK.txt shows the configuration that PWM interrupt can run properly;

The Slow.txt shows the configuration that PWM interrupt can run, but with extra delay;

The differences between OK.txt and Slow.txt is that customer place the CLA program in LS8/LS9 in Slow.txt.
