TMS320F28379D: Please confirm if TMS320F2837xD includes a BOR circuit

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Tool/software:

Does the TMS320F2837xD include a brownout reset (BOR) circuit? The answer in the E2E thread below states yes, but we think this may be incorrect because there is no information about BOR in the 'F2837xD datasheet and TRM.

If there is no BOR integrated then is an external supply voltage supervisor recommended?

  • Hi,

Yes I dont think there is I/O BOR circuit for the F2837xd.

You can refer to PMM section https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tms320f28388d.pdf which should be same as F2837XD.

As mentioned in Section 6.9.1.5 Supply Supervision of Datasheet - " 6.9.1.5 Supply Supervision An internal power-on-reset (POR) circuit keeps the I/Os in a high-impedance state during power up. External supply voltage supervisors (SVS) can be used to monitor the voltage on the 3.3-V and 1.2-V rails and drive XRS low when supplies are outside operational specifications."

    Thanks
