TMS320F2800157: Pin assignment/programming issue

Part Number: TMS320F2800157
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28034,

HI,

  1. According to datasheet pin 7 in 32pins package is occur in A0 & A1. Is it mean we can program it into A0 or A1?
  2. Could we use pin 21 for PWM6A, pin14 for PWM6B? As we find muliplexer poistion are not the same for above combination.
  3. For programing IC, TMS320F28034 using JTAG including 3V3, GND TDI, TDO, TMS, TCK, TRST, total 6 pins. For programing TMS320F2800157, could we use 5pins only? i.e. 3V3, GND TDI, TDO, TMS, TCK. Could we use XDS100V2 (TMS320F28034 programmer) to program/debug TMS320F2800157? if not, any other suggestion?680eb6e370c3ea5052ac8a560fc78f0f.png

  • Hello,

According to datasheet pin 7 in 32pins package is occur in A0 & A1. Is it mean we can program it into A0 or A1?

Yes, A0 and A1 are mapped to pin 7 of the 32RHB package.

Could we use pin 21 for PWM6A, pin14 for PWM6B? As we find muliplexer poistion are not the same for above combination.

Yes, you can do this. The mux selections are independent per pin. Please refer to the GPIO chapter in the TRM for more information on how to configure the pin selections.

For programing IC, TMS320F28034 using JTAG including 3V3, GND TDI, TDO, TMS, TCK, TRST, total 6 pins. For programing TMS320F2800157, could we use 5pins only? i.e. 3V3, GND TDI, TDO, TMS, TCK. Could we use XDS100V2 (TMS320F28034 programmer) to program/debug TMS320F2800157? if not, any other suggestion

Yes, F2803x devices require 5-pin JTAG (with nTRST) while more recent C2000 devices (such as F280015x) only require 4-pin JTAG (without nTRST).

You can use the XDS100V2 to program and debug the F2800157 device, please refer to the data sheets recommendations on JTAG connectivity.

    Best,

    Matt
