TMS320F28P550SJ: ePWM chopper module issues

Part Number: TMS320F28P550SJ

I am designing a SCR controller at 60Hz and I am using the ePWM to fire the SCRs. The gate output needs to have a single pulse of 120uSec followed by a 15kHz pulse train at 30% duty cycle. It appears that the ePWM chopper module can not go that low in frequency. For reference, I am using a TMS320F28P550 that runs at 150MHz.

I think that it is possible to use the CLB tiles to accomplish this task but I can not run the example projects on my MAC computer. Does the CLB only work on Windows?

Finally, can you suggest using other peripherals on this chip to accomplish this task?

Thanks

Dennis

  • I found documentation that confirms the CLB block can be used to generate the gate pulse train I need. I also have been able to generate the clb diagrams on the mac by modifying the steps to remove the GENERATE_DIAGRAM if statement. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get the CLB simulator working. The MAC will not let me copy SystemC 2.3.3 to the /usr/bin directory because it's a system directory protected by System Integrity Protection (SIP). Is there other alternatives?

    Thanks

    Dennis

  • I see this may be a platform related issue. You can try to use windows platform to see if this issue replicates, if you any. I am assigning this to our platform expert.
