TMS320F280039-Q1: How to speed up/optimize the function in CLA

Hi team,

I ask this for my customer.

As we all know, CLA can speed up the math calculation.

But my customer want to unify the software architecture in the two types of MCUs(one MCU has two core, DSP has CLA+CPU, they use CLA as CPU) , so in my customer's software architecture, they place the some register code in CLA also( in addition to math calculation), for example, read the ADC register

they finds this would spend long time, do we have any suggestion to optimize these code in CLA? Is our complier have some optimze for the CLA code?

Seems all the optimization is for math calculation not for other operation(such as the register read, write...)?

Compiler: make sure the optimization level of the project is -o2. This applies to the C28x and CLA code.

You could choose to use bit-fields to access the register directly. Driverlib is generic. For example the EPWM functions you show work with any ePWM module. The function has to make some decisions which register to read (which ePWM module). This could be reduced by accessing the specific PWM module's register. The downside is it is less flexible but with a tradeoff of performance.
