TMS320F28P550SJ: Is XRSn required to connected with VDDIO 3.3V?

Hi Champs,

 

Now customer's 3.3V design is according to our Launchpad. There is a external 3V3 and a VDDIO 3V3.

Many pin design requirements in the datasheet, such as XRSN, require pull-up resistors and connection to VDDIO. Now we want to know if it can be connected to 3.3V instead of VDDIO 3.3V. 

Could you help to check this? Thanks!

    VDDIO is the filtered 3.3V rail. This rail passes through some filter component which helps reduce noise and voltage spikes on the 3.3V input to the device. Especially for XRSn, it is highly recommended to use a filtered voltage rail as that will prevent spurious device resets caused by noise on the power rail. 

    Whether it is possible to ignore the recommendation is highly dependent on customer board design and what components are on the 3.3V power rail, and whether power is properly isolated
