TMS320F28388D: Clarification on HRPWM high-resolution behavior near carrier peak

Part Number: TMS320F28388D

Hi,

My understanding is as follows:

  • When the reference compare value (CMPA/CMPB) coincides with the triangle-carrier peak (TBCTR = PRD or ZERO),
the time margin for MEP interpolation becomes extremely small.

  • As a result, the HRPWM may not be able to generate sub-cycle high-resolution edges near these transition points.

  • This behavior is expected due to HRPWM architecture (Type-4) and is not considered a malfunction.

Question:
Is it correct that high-resolution edge placement cannot be guaranteed when the compare event overlaps with the carrier peak, and that this is expected behavior?

Thanks,

Conor
