TMS320F28335: The TMS320F28335 will crash after cold boot

Part Number: TMS320F28335

Hi, All,

I'm encountering a problem with the TMS320F28335. This product entered mass production in 2021 and has been working smoothly until recently, when some customers returned units for repair.

The reason is that the TMS320F28335 crashes during a cold boot. Pressing the reset button or powering on again within a very short time will restore normal system operation..

When we first encountered this issue, we performed numerous hardware tests and software modifications, but the problem persisted until I replaced the TMS320F28335 with a new one.

Recently, the number of customer returns with the same problem has increased again, and tracking via software I suspect it's related to the XINTF interface.

Has anyone else encountered the same situation? Thank you.

  • Hi Vincent,

Can you provide a little more information about the system? What does your reset button do, is it tied directly to the XRSn pin or to some power regulation onboard? Do you have date codes for the problem units?

    Regards,

    Peter
