TMS320F28335: For A version, how do I understand its Ta, TJ, and operating temperature?

Part Number: TMS320F28335

Hi,

The following questions are limited to A revision IC only

In Recommended Operating Conditions of datasheet, For "A" version, Ta=-40°C to 85°C, Tj=125°C. In PACKAGING INFORMATION of datasheet, For "A" version, operating temperature is -40°C to 85°C.

Operating temperature=-40°C to 85°C. it means that the IC's max. junction temperature should be <=85C to assure it operate well (its performance can be attained as that listed in datasheet). but Tj=125°C in Recommended Operating Conditions of Datasheet.

Q1: Pls help how to understand what the difference between operating temperature and Tj for A version IC

Q2: In practice, if the max. temperature at top center of  A version IC package is 87 °C (at this conversion, Tj should be <125C), can A version IC be used in project?
