TMS320F280049C: TMS320F280049C - EPWM3 and EPWM4 synchronization

Part Number: TMS320F280049C

Hello,

I am using the TMS320F280049C.
EPWM1 (master) and EPWM2 (slave) are configured with a 180-degree phase shift and operate as expected using the internal synchronization chain.

Now I need to configure EPWM3 and EPWM4 to drive an H-bridge.
All four switches should operate at 50% duty cycle (dead time neglected), with EPWM3 acting as the master and EPWM4 as the slave, ideally with a defined phase shift (e.g. 180 degrees).

My question is whether it is possible to achieve a similar master–slave phase-shifted synchronization between EPWM3 and EPWM4, while keeping the EPWM1–EPWM2 synchronization independent.

I am aware that the F280049C has three groups of three ePWM modules, and that EPWM3 and EPWM4 belong to different synchronization chains.

Is using EXTSYNCIN (via Input XBAR) the recommended or intended approach for this case?

Thanks a lot.

Best regards,
Lazar
