TMS320F28379D: In ram command file , how to increase data section size

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Hi Sir,

How to increase data section size . While building program ,I am getting below error message,

[110]<Linking>
[111]"../2837xD_RAM_lnk_cpu1.cmd", line 91: error #10099-D: program will not fit into available memory, or the section contains a call site that requires a trampoline that can't be generated for this section. run placement with alignment/blocking fails for section ".data" size 0xa0 page 1.  Available memory ranges:
[112]   RAMLS5       size: 0x800        unused: 0xa6         max hole: 0xa6
[113]error #10010: errors encountered during linking; "integrated_code__pll_verified.out" not built

Thanks and Regards,

Prashant Gugle

  • Hi Prashant,

Can you share the linker cmd file for further analysis?

The memories allocated to .data section is not enough to accommodate the entire data, so we need to add additional memory section to fill the data.

Please use GS0 RAM for the data section and check if it resolves your issue.

    .data            : > RAMGS0,    PAGE = 1

    Thanks

    Aswin

  • Hi Aswin,

Please find the attached linker command file for your analysis.

  • Hi Prashant,

Please use GS0 RAM for the data section and check if it resolves your issue.

    .data            : > RAMGS0,    PAGE = 1

    Thanks

    Aswin

  • Hi Aswin,

Even when I used RAMGS0 for .text section

      .text            : >> RAMGS0 | RAMGS1 | RAMGS2 | RAMGS3, PAGE = 1

still it is okay to use for .data section?

Actually, I used RAMGS0 for data section and it builds without errors.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Prashant Gugle
