LAUNCHXL-F28P65X: LED blink example not working

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28P65X
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG, C2000WARE, TMS320F28P650DK

Hi,

I am trying to bring up a LAUNCHXL-F28P65X device, which has a TM320F28P650DK9 MCU with 169NMR packaging.

I am using Code Composer Studio (CCS_20.4.0.00013_linux) which comes with Sysconfig 1.26.0, and also using the C2000Ware Software package (C2000Ware 6.00.01.00).

In CCS, I imported the `C2000Ware_6_00_01_00/driverlib/f28p65x/examples/c28x/led/CCS` project, and tried to open the syscfg file.

At this point a "Select Device" window comes up:

Here, I can select "TMS320F28P650DK" for device, and "TMS320F28P650DK9" for variant, however there is no "169NMR" package option, so I had to select "256ZEJ".

To build, I had to adjust the Project properties:

And I have the correct targetConfig:

After this, I could run "Project > Build Projects", and then "Run > Debug Project", and I can see the program running on my device, however there is no led blinking.

I suspect this is an issue with my sysconfig. The "Device Selection" window does not have the correct options. Under sysconfig, the top panel also suggests that it is trying to configure the Control Card F28P65X, and not the LAUNCHXL board.

I also tried to click The "SWITCH" button to change the device, but it is not responsive.

Any suggestions?

Best regards,

Daniel

  • I found out there is another blink example as part of the C28x Academy, which is located in

    `C2000Ware_6_00_01_00/training/device/f28p65x/getting_started/lab_blinkyled_driverlib/lab_blinkyled_launchpad.projectspec˙.

Based on this, I reverse engineered the solution for the driverlib example.

I had to change in "Project > Properties > Build > Tools > SysConfig > Basic Options` the "Name of the board" to ˙boards/LAUNCHXL_F28P65X`

And I also had to add in "Project > Properties > Build > Tools > C2000 Compiler > Predefined Symbols` the `_LAUNCHXL_F28P65X` symbol.

After this, I could build and run the app, and also open sysconfig with the proper interface.
