TMS320F28P650DK: Missing information on eCAP synchronization (register ECAPSYNCINSEL)

Part Number: TMS320F28P650DK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

In Technocal Reference manual SPRUIZ1B there is a missing information: how to select the signal which synchronizes capture units. More specifically:

  • at page 3675, paragraph 21.5.7, phrase "The SYNC signal is defined by the selection of ECAPxSYNCINSEL[SEL]". Also, phrasse "The external sync-in signal can come from eCAP,
    X-Bar or EPWM."
  • at page 3676, figure 21.8, shows a multiplexer with inputs 0x0 ... 0xn, driven by the same register ECAPxSYNCINSEL[SEL]. Also, among multiplexer inputs are also "(EPWM, ECAP,
    INPUTXBAR, ...)"
  • at page 3718, paragraph 21.10.2.14 and table 21-19, description of register ECAPxSYNCINSEL[SEL] is only the following: "These bits determines the source of SYNCIN signal.
0x0 : Disabled using SOC tieoff.
0x7F : Refer to SOC spec for details."

My question is : how to select SYNC signal, for example, to be an InputXbar? There should be a table showing all combinations of the 7 bits of register ECAPxSYNCINSEL[SEL]. For the moment, only 1 of the 128 combinations is documented.
