TMS320F28P650DK: Error connecting to target – “Internal Error: PRSC module detected an unknown failure” on TMS320F28P650DK6

Hello TI Team,

I am facing an issue while trying to connect to the target using the TMS320F28P650DK6 device.

When attempting to connect to the target, I consistently get the following error:

Internal Error: PRSC module detected an unknown failure

Setup details:

  • Device: TMS320F28P650DK6

  •  custom board 

  • IDE: Code Composer Studio (version: 12.8.1)

  • Emulator: XDS110 

  • Connection: JTAG

  • Host OS: Windows

What I have tried so far:

  • Power-cycled the board

  • Restarted CCS

  • Checked target configuration

  • Verified board power and USB connection

  • Tried different USB/JTAG cable 

Despite this, the error persists and CCS is unable to connect to the target.

Could you please help identify:

  • What causes the PRSC module “unknown failure” error?

  • Whether this is related to device power, clock, reset, or JTAG configuration

  • Any recommended debug steps or CCS settings to resolve this issue

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
