TMS320F28377D-EP: Boot mode issue/ Unknown state of the controller

Part Number: TMS320F28377D-EP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

I'm using TMS320F28377DGWTEP for my project. I have some unusual observations encountered recently.

The H/W configuration is fixed in Get mode on the board.

How it started: The board was flashed with a new code but after flashing two times, it was disconnected from Code Composer software with the error mentioned in Screenshot. After that it only supports Uniflash FW uploading.

Possible reasons as experienced : My current rating goes to 20-30mA while uC is in normal operating mode.  But now it is staying in 14mA. Current rating are at 28VDC. This happens when I intentionally keep it in wait boot mode by strapping GPIO72 1 and GPIO84 0. But now the similar behaviour is there with 11 HW setup of both GPIOs.

  1. What could be other possible reasons ?
  2. if this is similar to wait boot mode issue, is there any other methods to bring it back to normal mode in FW setup ? (Can try as it still getting flashed by Uniflash and checksum reading is ok, every time)

  • Hello,

A few questions: To clarify, are you able to connect to the device in CCS at all anymore? Or you just got disconnected while trying to Flash the device earlier?

Can you elaborate on what you mean by a "wait boot mode issue" as well as bringing it back to "normal mode"? Is the desire to set the device in boot to Flash mode? Did you program the OTP to set your Get boot mode already?

    Best Regards,

    Allison
