TMS320F28388S: "SWITCH" device button doesn't work in CCS

Part Number: TMS320F28388S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG,

I never used to have this problem, this has only started in the last week. If I click on the "SWITCH" button, or the two arrows next to the device name in sysconfig, which would both normally bring up the migration menu, a loading circle flashes up but quickly dissapears, and if i click on either button again, the sysconfig screen goes black and i have to close the window and reopen sysconfig. This behaviour repeats exactly each time i try.

If i open an old project I made before last week, sysconfig and the migration menu work fine.

The work around I've found to use is to go Project>Properties>Basic Options    and then type in the device and package required.

Would be nice for the migration menu to work, i particularly use this as the TMS320F28388S part automatically loads with the bga package and i always have to change it to the 176 pin package i am using.

I have tried delecting cached and temporary files as i found some people suggesting but still no success.
