TMS320F28P559SG-Q1: Function cannot load from non-primitive location

Hi team,

I ask this for my customer.

My customer is migrating universal motor control lab to f28p55, and they find all the function in est.h (such as EST_run()) shows error: cannot load from non-primitive location.

What the reason of this error?
Is it means EST_run() function isn't run normally?

Hi Shuqing,

Are you looking for the source of the function? The highlight view appears when you long hover over the variable/function and is supposed to provide the value/address of it. You can go to the actual source of the function by Ctrl+Clicking the function.

If you check this function, it is in our FAST library that is not accessible for customer, so we can’t see the value/address

Hi Shuqing,

Correct, so the CCS will not be able to locate that value, but does not mean that it is not executing. Only when you see issues with compiler build and linking should there be a concern
