F29H850TU: F29P329-TLE4973 Hardware Question

Part Number: F29H850TU
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-010059

Hi All,

We're using TI's F29P329SM2QRFSQ1 MCU with TLE4973 current sensors.

We're using a resistor divider to scale TLE4973's output voltage (0-5V) to fit our ADC VREF range (0-2.5V).

Question about filtering capacitor and divider resistor:

In our current schematic, there's a 100pF capacitor on CRU.AOUT (after the voltage divider). This capacitor forms an RC low-pass filter with the divider resistors.

MOSFET switching frequency is 15kHz, what capacitance and divider resistor value would you recommend for optimal filtering and dividing without affecting current measurement accuracy?

I believe choosing the right capacitance is critical for:

1. Filtering switching noise

2. Maintaining adequate bandwidth for FOC current control loop

Schematic attached.

Thanks for your advice!

Best regards

  • Hi Batuhan,

I'm not able to see your schematic. Can you let me know what the application you're working on is? That can help me to point you to a possible reference schematic design that you can compare to for recommended components

    Regards,

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

    Thanks for your reply.

I'm working on a 3-phase motor driver and we're currently using TLE4973 hall sensors to read phase currents.

    Configuration:

    • TLE4973 output voltage swings between 0-5V (bidirectional current measurement)
    • We're using semi-differential mode
    • MCU ADC VREF: 2.5V
    • Need to divide the 0-5V output to fit within 0-2.5V range

    Best regards

  • Hi Batuhan

Since TLE is an Infineon part, our equivalent devices would be TMCS product line. For all of our motor driver reference designs, we primarily use INA CSAs. Can you take a look at the TIDA-010059 design? There should be relevant schematics which you can reference for this purpose

    Regards,

    Peter
