TMS320F28P650SK: EQEP decription in TRM

Suppose you are using EQEP3. The module has two inputs eQEP3_A and eQEP3_B. In up count, you need to provide signal to eQEP3_A. For this, you need to set Pin configuration using function GPIO_setPinConfig(). From attached, GPIO6 can have any of the one configuration from the following : GPIO6/EPWM4_A/OUTPUTXBAR4/EXTSYNCOUT/EQEP3_A/MCANB_TX/LINA_TX/EMIF1DQM0/ESC_GP16/FSITXB_DO. Here, you need to choose EQEP3_A. Since we do not need to provide any signal to EQEP3_B input, so we would not select EQEP3_B for GPIO7. We can use this as a GPIO or for any other function.

Thank you for your detailed description. but I still want to know what it mean in TRM: "In up-count mode, we recommend that the application not configure QEPB as a GPIO mux option, or make sure that a signal edge is not generated on the QEPB input. "

Hi, It means that u should not connect or route any signal to eQEPB input

Does it mean that in my application for measuring grid frequency, I just need config pin 166 as  eQEP3_A, and pin 167 can config as GPIO or other non-eQEP3_B function. but if I insist config pin 167 as  eQEP3_B, no signal should connect or route to eQEP3_B?
