TMS320F28P659DK-Q1: Flash Memory Issue – Code Erased After Power Off (CCS 12.8)

Part Number: TMS320F28P659DK-Q1

Hi,

I am currently using Code Composer Studio version 12.8.0.00012.

Interface-wise, everything is working fine. However, when I turn off the board, the image gets erased, even though I am flashing the code into flash memory.

From the hardware side, everything is working fine.

Is there any additional setting that needs to be enabled in CCS Studio? Please advise.

  • Hi Saravanan,

From the hardware side, everything is working fine.

Can you please help provide details on the hardware you are using? Are you using a custom board or an EVM from TI such as https://www.ti.com/tool/LAUNCHXL-F28P65X

However, when I turn off the board, the image gets erased, even though I am flashing the code into flash memory.

Could you also help confirm if the boot mode pins (GPIO72 and 84) are both being pulled high (logical 1) for Flash boot?

Is there any additional setting that needs to be enabled in CCS Studio? Please advise.

No, there should not be any additional steps required for flash programming. Do you see the same behavior if you use Uniflash?

Also, are you flashing custom SW or one of the examples from the SDK provided by TI? If using your own SW, I would recommend to first use an example provided by TI to rule out any possible issues with HW setup.

    Best Regards,

    Marlyn
