TMS320F2800157-Q1: PMP23340C2K Scaling Questions

Part Number: TMS320F2800157-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: POWERSUITE

Hi expert,

     Customer has questions about pmp23340 scaling calucation. Can you please help to clarify?

  1. #define BRICK_VINSNS_SENSE_MAX_VOLTS        ((float32_t)100)
    However, according to schematc VOSNS2_max should be 3.3(R20+R23)/R23 =  3.3 *(10+2.8)/2.8= 15.0857V
    Why program and powersuite set it to 100V?
    If you look at  #define BRICK_VOUT_SCALE    ((float32_t) 3.3f / 4096.0f * (10.0f + 2.8f) / 2.8f), The Vout max used for calculating scale is correct. May we know where is 100V coming from?

     2. The same question to VINSNS

        #define BRICK_VINSNS_SENSE_MAX_VOLTS        ((float32_t)100)

        By calcuation the VIN max should be 60.46V

    3. May we know how to calcuate Ipri max from schematic?

        How do we get these value?

         #define BRICK_IOCP_SENSE_MAX_AMPS           ((float32_t)3708)
         #define BRICK_IOSNS_SENSE_MAX_AMPS         ((float32_t)8119)
         #define BRICK_ISNS_SCALE    ((float32_t) 3.3f / 4096.0f / (20.0f * 0.0002f))

How can we calculate current value from Vsw1-Vsw2?

  • Hi Andre,

    You are correct for the Voutsensemax and Vinsensemax, the values are decided by the voltage divider and the full scale input value of ADC. The fullscale input value can be either 3.3V or 2.5V if internal references are selected and any other value if external reference is selected.

    For the current sense I am checking with the designer.
