TMS320F28375S: Non-Volatile SRAM during Watchdog Reset

Part Number: TMS320F28375S

Does the F28375S device have any SRAM that will reatain its contents through a watchdog reset. The TRM states that during a watchdog reset, the Boot ROM does "RAM Initialization". I'm not exactly sure what this means.

Customer is trying to pass state from the application to the bootrom during a watchdog reset.

Thanks,

Stuart

  • Any thoughts on this inquiry?

Customer found the HIBBOOTMODE and IORESETADDR registers (32-bits + 22-bits total). They have observed that these appear to be non-volatile through a reset, and they do not intend to use the hibernate feature. Could these registers be used in this way without any unexpected consequence?

    Thanks,

    Stuart

  • Hi,

On this device RAM contents are not retain during reset which asserts XRSn pins like WD reset. We have hibernate feature on this device and if customers are not using that feature then user can use register used for hibernate for passing this info.
