TMS320F28P650DH: EtherCAT redundancy

Part Number: TMS320F28P650DH

Hi BU experts,

We are looking for EtherCAT redundancy solutions.

For EtherCAT master:

Is there any redunency solution of EtherCAT master? Let there be two master, one active and one as backup.

One solution I can think of is let one master act as slave, monitoring the bus, and switch to master when the primary master is down. The topology like:

Master(active) -> Slave 0 (redundent master)-> slave 1 -> slave 2.

Master(Down) -> master-> slave 1 -> slave 2.

and add cable redundancy of top of this to avoid single point of failure. Does this work?

For EtherCAT slave:

  • Does F28P650 supports cable redundancy
  • Does AM261 supports cable redundancy
  • If the above does not support, which device can support?
