Bridgeless PFC Kit

I've just received the Bridgeless PFC kit and I can't figure out why there is an externally accessible USB port with a supplied cable when the instructions tell you to use the mini-USB port on the ControlCard which means you have to remove the safety cover to be able to plug it in.

What is the externally accessible USB port for?

Also the kit details say specified input voltage 85-265Vac but the instructions say power it up with 110-220Vac, is this just a safety thing or can the kit not actually handle voltages outside 100-200Vac?

Thanks

Steve
