TMS320F280037C: SYSCFG not able to switch devices in higher versions.

Part Number: TMS320F280037C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE, , TMS320F280033, SYSCONFIG

Hi Experts,

My cusomter has a syscfg file that needs migration

When they use C2000WARE 26.0 and syscfg1.27, they have below error when clicking the "Switch" buttion to switch devices.

79fce1a338d3273ad6c62740684b3c56.jpg

If they switch back to C2000WARE 4.3 and syscfg 1.16, there would be no issue.

What's the issue here?

Regards,

Hang

  • This may have something to do with network.Customer do not have internet access, and they have this issue. I can not reproduce this issue since I have network issue.

Could you please help confirming this as well?

    Regards,

    Hang

  • Hi Hang,

I imported the led_blinky example from C2000Ware and tried the SWITCH button on "C2000Ware_6_00_01_00\driverlib\f28003x\examples\led\led_ex1_blinky.syscfg", The Migrate Settings pop up opened for me. I tried to do the following migration

    TMS320F280037C to TMS320F280033

But I noticed that CCS hangs after doing this. I will check with the SysConfig team regarding this issue.

    Thanks,

    Ira

  • Hi Ira,

You can try with internet disconnected. The error would not occur on my side as well but at least the mirgrate settings would not pop up for me.

    Regards,

    Hang

  • Hi Hang,

Sys Config working should not depend on internet connection as it gets installed locally on your system. Can you confirm if the project discovery paths are set up correctly?

    Thanks,

    Ira

  • Hi Ira,

I've reproduce this under syscfg1.27 and c2000ware 26, the outcome is different to customer but it shows that the migration has something to do with network.

  • One more update,

I am reproduce the same outcome as customer, just by switching to C2000ware 6.0 + syscfg 1.27

Make sure you disconnect the internet to reproduce this issue.

  • Hi Hang,

Let me try on my end.

    Thanks,

    Ira

  • Hi Hang,

I tried to reproduce your issue on my end with CCS 20.5 and Sysconfig 1.27

I imported a F280037 Project and launched the sysconfig gui.

    1. With internet on : When I click on SWITCH the migrate settings window pops up and everything works fine.

    2. With internet off : When I click on SWITCH I get the following error

Oh Snap! The last change caused an exception...

    TypeError: Failed to fetch

    at o (localhost:53348/.../ui.js:1006:41352) at t.getTICOMData (localhost:53348/.../ui.js:1006:41721) at t.createMigrationOptions (localhost:53348/.../ui.js:946:79098) at localhost:53348/.../ui.js:896:12331 at t.ModalService.showProgressDuring (localhost:53348/.../ui.js:1007:6974) at http://localhost:53348/ccs-webview/sysconfig_JomL0Dp6Xw54YEnT/ui.js:942:20449

Is this what you see as well?

  • Ira,

    Lett's say yes.

I think what you see is almost the same to my screen shot, with a few differences in the port number, which indeed may varies among difference machines.

  • Hi Hang,

Is the customer use case such that they need to use it without internet connection?

  • Hi Hang,

This might be a SysConfig limitation. I am looping in the SDTO team.

    Thanks,

    Ira

  • 1. With internet on : When I click on SWITCH the migrate settings window pops up and everything works fine.

    2. With internet off : When I click on SWITCH I get the following error

yes, I can reproduce this issue too. I will bring this thread to the attention of the sysconfig experts.

    Thanks

  • yes, I can reproduce this issue too. I will bring this thread to the attention of the sysconfig experts.

A ticket has been filed for this issue. Tracking link: https://sir.ext.ti.com/jira/browse/EXT_EP-13369

    Thanks

  • Hi Ki,

Seems that the fix would be released in the next update of syscfg. Is there any chance we can get a patch soon instead of waiting for the next update?

    Regards,

    Hang

  • Hi Hang,

The team here is looking into it.

    Thanks

    ki

  • Hang, we have a beta build of 1.28 available the customer can try. Again please make sure the customer understands that this is a beta build. I will share the link to you separately.
