TMS320F28P650DH: Issues with converting SSC to CCS on F28P650x

Part Number: TMS320F28P650DH
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hi Team,

Posting on behalf of our customer.

I'll share this E2E post with our customer so he can reply when needed.

After modifying the TI “f28p65x_ssc_config.xml” file to redefine the EtherCAT I/O configuration, I noticed that the variables corresponding to the updated definitions are not regenerated or reflected in the CCS project source code.

Is there any recommended method or workflow to modify f28p65x_ssc_config.xml such that the updated EtherCAT I/O definitions are synchronized and automatically generated within the CCS project as well?

EtherCAT is working properly.

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi , can you let me know the variables you are trying to change so I can replicate it .
    I was able to change the values and see in the project. After changing values did you import the updated f28p65x_ssc_config.xml file in SSC tool and regenerate the stack files.

    Regards

    Kunal.

  • I modified the variable name from SWITCH1 to BOTTOM1 in the f28p65x_ssc_config.xml file, and then regenerated the files using SSC.

    After regeneration:

    • In TwinCAT, the name is correctly updated to BOTTOM1.
    • However, in CCS, the original structure still shows Switch1, and it does not change to BOTTOM1.

    Here is the relevant code in CCS:

    typedef struct OBJ_STRUCT_PACKED_START
    {
        UINT16 u16SubIndex0;

        BOOLEAN(Switch1); // Subindex1 - Switch1 (should be changed to BOTTOM1)
        BOOLEAN(Switch2);
        BOOLEAN(Switch3);
        BOOLEAN(Switch4);
        BOOLEAN(Switch5);
        BOOLEAN(Switch6);
        BOOLEAN(Switch7);
        BOOLEAN(Switch8);

    } OBJ_STRUCT_PACKED_END;

  • Hi , I looked into this and checked with experts also . Since the changes are associated with header files present in "C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_6_00_01_00\libraries\communications\Ethercat\f28p65x\ssc_configuration"  you will have to edit these manually since they do get regenerated by ssc tool. Twincat is able to see because of modified .xml file .
