F29H850TU: CCS 20.5.1.00012 Linux Crashing on Start

Installation on Ubuntu 25.04 LTS, following the isntallation the ccstudio binary crashes. Caotured with Ubuntu crash handler.

This apepars to be a problem with permissions. Error logs are unclear.

CLI start shows this error:

developer-VirtualBox:/opt/ti/ccs2051/ccs/theia$ ./ccstudio
[272309:0505/154258.745344:FATAL:sandbox/linux/suid/client/setuid_sandbox_host.cc:169] The SUID sandbox helper binary was found, but is not configured correctly. Rather than run without sandboxing I'm aborting now. You need to make sure that /opt/ti/ccs2051/ccs/theia/chrome-sandbox is owned by root and has mode 4755.
Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

Proposing that the TI Installer fixes this natively.

The solve, appears to be manually modifying the permissions for the wrapper:

sudo chown root:root /opt/ti/ccs2051/ccs/theia/chrome-sandbox
sudo chmod 4755 /opt/ti/ccs2051/ccs/theia/chrome-sandbox

Now, I would argue this is bad design, there is no reason that this needs to run as root. The local user just needs to be added to the serial port group to use USB items, I expect the targeted solve is simply adding the existing user to the dialout group. This eliminates the need for a chrome sandbox running as root.
