Concerto ADC Layout

I would like to get some clarification on the layout of the ADC on the F28M35H52C1 part.  TI doc SPRUH22B page 878 Figure 11-1 shows 32 channels with 4 sets of 2 channels internally tied together.  Therefore a total of 28 channels are available.  However on TI doc SPRS742B page 89 Figure 5-3 shows that only 10 of the 16 channels per ADC system is available.  I am going to assume that there are only 20 channels available.  I would like verification that it is the channels show in Figure 5-3.

  • Jason,

The figure in SPRS742B is correct for the device you are using (F28M35).  The figure in SPRUH22B(The TRM) is device agnostic and is showing the capability of the ADC module in the Concerto class family.  As there are devices added there may be more or less ADC channels brought to pins depending on the package.

Please let me know if this answers your questions.

  • Matt,

I am assuming that the ADC channels shown as tied to each other in Figure 11-1 in SPRUH22B are still tied together internally on the F28M35 (i.e. ADC1INA0 is connected internally to ADC2INA1, ADC1INA1 is connected internally to ADC2INA0, etc.), just that only 10 of the channels on each ADC are brought out to pins on this device. Is this correct? Thanks.
