TMS320F2800156-Q1: Design Correctness

Part Number: TMS320F2800156-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HDC3020

Hello TI team,

I am sharing the attached schematic for technical review and would appreciate your feedback before proceeding further with the design.
Could you please review the schematic and confirm whether the following connections and external components are correct?
  1. I2C interface
  2. CAN interface
  3. 5V and 3.3V voltage monitoring
  4. Debug IO1 to IO3
  5. Green and red status LEDs
  6. Power supply pin connections
    • Correct connection of all required supply pins
    • Decoupling capacitor sufficiency
  7. JTAG interface
    • TCK, TMS, TDI, TDO, TRST, and reset connections
    • Connector pinout correctness
    • Any recommended pull resistors or series resistors for reliable programming/debug
Your feedback will help me validate the design before moving to the next stage.

  • Hi Ayyappan,

To confirm, is there a file attachment you would like us to review or just review based on the 2 images?

    Regards,

    Peter

  • Hi Peter

Thank you for your reply. The other section includes interfaces such as the I2C pressure sensor, I2C HDC3020 humidity sensor, voltage monitoring, and TCAN1044 transceivers.

The corresponding nets from these components are connected to the controller. We request you to verify that:

    • The nets are correctly mapped to the respective controller pins
    • The JTAG connections are correct
    • The power supply design is proper, including decoupling capacitors

    Regards

  • Hi Ayyappan,

Please help to check your attachment as I am only able to see the schematic containing the F280015 MCU with JTAG, clocking, and power. From what I can see, you should add a pull-up to the TMS line for proper JTAG connecting, and recommend to add dampening resistor between X2 and the crystal to prevent overdriving crystal (refer to Rd note in data sheet and check drive level of the crystal being used). Also VDD recommend 0.1 uF decoupling resistor.

I don't see any other circuitry besides this

    Regards,

    Peter
