TMS320F2800156-Q1: Current consumption details - IDD vs Sysclk

Part Number: TMS320F2800156-Q1

Hi team,

My customer is using TMS320F2800156-Q1 in their design, and needs data of IDD (not IDDIO) variation vs sysclk.

The datasheet specifies IDDIO vs sysclk (with VREG enabled) in figure 6-1 - image.png

  1. Please share IDD vs SYSCLK (for VREG disabled).
  2. Please confirm if MCAN (CAN FD) current consumption of 1.24mA as listed in section 6.5.5.1 of datasheet (Typical Current Reduction per Disabled Peripheral) is accurate.

Thank you

  • Druva,

The current vs frequency for IDD will be a linear relationship identical to the one given for IDDIO(VREG enabled).  The customer can use the IDD numbers in the DS to get a baseline for 120MHz, then scale it up/down accordingly.  In this mode IDDIO will basically be static over the frequency range.

In terms of current consumption per IP, this should be a good approximation of the savings.

    Best,

    Matthew
