TMS320F28377S: C2000Ware: License and public distribution for a do it yourself project?

Part Number: TMS320F28377S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hello!

I'd like to provide a software framework for a do it yourself C2000 project. Ok, there are a lot of self wirtten files, but for the project I need the TI-libraries (fpu_dsp_library, FPUfastRTS, device suppert (DSP2837x_headers), flash_api).

May I add these libraries and headers to the public GitHub-project or shall I just provide the directory tree and everyone can copy the files from the installed C2000Ware?

Best regards,
Edwin

  • Hi Edwin

    Which version of C2000Ware are you using?

    Best Regards

    Siddharth

  • Hi!

    Version: C2000Ware_5_02_00_00

    Well, not the newest version, is this important? The FIR, IIR, math functions, the register headers are some kind of timeless.

    Best regards
    Edwin

    Most of the libraries that you have mentioned are licensed using the "TI Text File"  license and following are the redistribution clauses of this license.

    "Redistributions must preserve existing copyright notices and reproduce this license (including the
    above copyright notice and the disclaimer and (if applicable) source code license limitations below)
    in the documentation and/or other materials provided with the distribution

    Redistribution and use in binary form, without modification, are permitted provided that the following
    conditions are met:

    * No reverse engineering, decompilation, or disassembly of this software is permitted with respect to any
    software provided in binary form.
    * any redistribution and use are licensed by TI for use only with TI Devices.
    * Nothing shall obligate TI to provide you with source code for the software licensed and provided to you in object code.

    If software source code is provided to you, modification and redistribution of the source code are permitted
    provided that the following conditions are met:

    * any redistribution and use of the source code, including any resulting derivative works, are licensed by
    TI for use only with TI Devices.
    * any redistribution and use of any object code compiled from the source code and any resulting derivative
    works, are licensed by TI for use only with TI Devices."

    You can find the license text in the "manifest" file in the C2000Ware root folder.

    I would recommend you provide instructions to copy the files from the installed C2000Ware.

    Best Regards

    Siddharth

  • Hi!

    Well, I'll add a file which describes where to find the used libraries ...

    * Because of license reasons no files are added to the reposotory.

    * C2000Ware 5.02.00.00

    * Libraries: fpu_dsp_library, FPUfastRTS, device support (DSP2837x_headers), flash_api

    * directories in C2000Ware:

    * fpu_dsp_library: C2000Ware_xyz/libraries/dsp/FPU/c28

    * FPUfastRTS: C2000Ware_xyz/libraries/math/FPUfastRTS/c28

    * device support: C2000Ware_xyz/device_support/f2837xs

    * flash_api: C2000Ware_xyz/libraries/flash_api/f2837xs

    Best regards,
    Edwin
