TMS320F28P650DK: CCS fails on C2000wares-examples import with "Specified location not accessible: package-not-installed"

Part Number: TMS320F28P650DK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE, CODECOMPOSER

CCS Version: Version: 21.0.0.14__1.12.0; Default VS Code API: 1.110.1

C2000Ware Version : 26.01.00.00.STS

Everything is installed to the default location C:\ti\

I want to open an example project. Thus, I select the following example project:
[HOME symbol] / C2000 real-time controllers / Embedded Software / C2000Ware / English / Libraries / Communications / Ethercat / Examples / F28P65X / Ethercat CPU1 PDI HAL TEST CCS Project

I start by hitting the "Import" button. CCS installs two libraries (both 'successful'), then when hitting the 'confirm' button:

This happens again and again. It does not matter if there is a folder open in the explorer panel or not.

What is going wrong?

  • I successfully installed the LED-blinky-example from the 'Devices' branch of the C2000ware (However, it installs the C2000ware-libraries every time I import a project...). Seems like only the 'Libraries' branch is broken?

So, the example from this works:
    C2000 real-time microcontrollers / Embedded Software / C2000ware (26.01.00.00) / English / Devices / F28P65X / F28Ü650DK9 / Examples / Driverlib / c28x / led does work.

But the example from this does not import:
    C2000 real-time microcontrollers / Embedded Software / C2000ware (26.01.00.00) / English / Libraries / Communications / Ethercat / Examples / F28P65x / Ethercat CPU1 PDI HAL TEST CCS Project

  • Hi Achim,

Let me check this with the c2000ware team and provide a reply by Monday eod.

    Thanks,

    Ira

  • Hi Achim,

Can you show your c2000ware path from project properties? Sometimes it expects c2000ware to be installed at C:/ti/c2000 instead of C:/ti

  • From the "blinky"-project, which installed successfully:
The closest thing I found was the include path to the c2000ware:

For the project which fails in import I cannot say what the C2000ware path is. It does not import! How could I check the c2000Ware path, then?

Noteworthy might be the structure of the C:\TI directory. There are THREE subdirectories called C2000Ware_...!!!

Where they come from I cannot say. At least, I did not install them manually.

Here is a screenshot of the failure screen:

  • Hi Achim,

This is most definitely an issue. Make sure you have only one c2000ware_26_01_00_00 installed. Please delete the other 2. And make sure that your c2000ware install path in project properties contains the path of the c2000ware you choose to keep.

I would say keep the c2000ware folder at C:/ti/c2000/C2000Ware_26_01_00_00 and delete the other two and try.

    Thanks,

    Ira

  • Hi Achim,

    Did this work?

    Thanks,

    Ira

  • Unfortunately not. Instead, it broke my Codecomposer Studio installation. Now, I am deleting and re-installing CCS and C2000ware. I will come back next week with the result. Thanks for you help!

  • Installing everything again resolved the issue!

It seems that the cause of this error was the duplicate installation of the c200ware software. It is not neccessary to install it separately, CCS will do this for you.
