F29H850TU: FLASH ERROR

Part Number: F29H850TU

I was using the program "flash_mode0_128_program" for simulation, then stopped running it and started the simulation again. The following errors occurred.

C29xx_CPU1: Before doing any flash operations using the flash plugin:

C29xx_CPU1: (a)Please select which bank mode will be used for CPU operation - Bank Mode 0, Bank Mode 1, Bank Mode 2, Bank Mode 3.

C29xx_CPU1: (b)Please select the flash banks that the user would like the flash plugin to erase in the flash plugin GUI.

C29xx_CPU1: When loading data to SECCFG memory region within your .out file, you can select the option to

C29xx_CPU1: WARNING - Erasing SECCFG will erase programmable OTP, please proceed with caution (device may get locked).
C29xx_CPU1: Enable NonMain sector erase ONLY if necessary.

C29xx_CPU1: When programming the NonMain BANKMGMT Settings to set the Bank Mode, check that the Flash Bank Mode Select

C29xx_CPU1: in the User Config Settings matches the set mode before resuming operations.

C29xx_CPU1: After programming the BANKMGMT, the device MUST BE RESET THROUGH XRSn to enable the new configuration.

C29xx_CPU1: Note: When loading Multi-Core Flash Examples, ensure that the device is in the correct Bank Mode prior to programming.

C29xx_CPU1: Bank Mode 2 and Bank Mode 3 can be used for Multi-Core Flash programming.

C29xx_CPU1: Resetting the target...

C29xx_CPU1: Resetting the target completed...

C29xx_CPU1: Configured PLL for 200MHz

C29xx_CPU1: Error writing the init algorithm. Flash algorithm returned error code. Operation cancelled.

C29xx_CPU1: File Loader: Memory write failed: Unknown error

C29xx_CPU1: GEL: File: C:\Users\M00023883\workspace_ccstheia\led_TEST\FLASH\led_TEST.out: Load failed.

  • Supplementary note: When the new project added these codes and then conducted simulation, a FLASH exception error occurred. I suspect that the chip might be locked. Please help confirm.The added code is as follows:

        //

        // Request semaphore for CPU1

        //

        if (!SSU_claimFlashSemaphore())

        {

            //

            // Stop execution if unable to claim the semaphore

            //

            Example_Error(0);

        }

        Fapi_StatusType oReturnCheck;

        //

        // Get the current FOTA configuration. This variable is passed to

        // as a parameter to most functions and if in Mode 1 or 3, determines

        // whether or not the update region will be written to

        //

        u32UserFlashConfig = Fapi_getUserConfiguration(BankType, FOTAStatus);

        //

        // Set Flash API Bank Mode configuration. These address mappings

        // will be used for program and erase operations. Outside of specific

        // use cases, this should match the device's currently programmed bank mode

        //

        oReturnCheck = Fapi_SetFlashCPUConfiguration(Mode0);

        if(oReturnCheck != Fapi_Status_Success)

        {

        }

        //

        // Initialize the Flash API by providing the Flash register base address

        // and operating frequency(in MHz).

        // This function is required to initialize the Flash API based on System

        // This function must also be called whenever System frequency or RWAIT is

        // changed.

  • Chuhao,

    I would like to sincerely apologize for the wait... We had an internal issue and this thread was not seen until just now.

    Again so sorry for the delay. I have taken action to find an owner to help answer your question ASAP!

    I will have an engineer on this thread to close it and get you the support that you need.

  • Hi Chuhao,

    Apologies for the delay,

    When the new project added these codes and then conducted simulation, a FLASH exception error occurred

    What does 'conducted simulation' mean? The user programmed the code and tried to execute from it? IF so, what is the exception error that was received and during what part of the process did they see this error (ie. while programming or during execution)?

    then stopped running it and started the simulation again. The following errors occurred.

    Does the issue only happen with this example or any flash example from the SDK?

    Can you please help confirm that the device is in BANKMODE0?

    Best Regards,
    Marlyn
