TMS320F28374S: Chip reset issue

Part Number: TMS320F28374S

Dear Experts,

At present, we are using F28374 for testing and have found that after a power outage, there will be a period of fluctuation in the reset pin. The voltage of the reset pin will increase, and it will only drop to 0V after about 500ms. Could you please advise if this is a problem with the chip's own mechanism and whether this fluctuation will cause the chip to trigger incorrectly? Thank you

  • Hi,

This is not the chip behaviour, are you sure the power was completely removed from the MCU when powered off. And there was not voltage spike

Could you please advise if this is a problem with the chip's own mechanism and whether this fluctuation will cause the chip to trigger incorrectly?

    Thanks

  • Dear Bhatt,

This fluctuation occurs at the moment of power-down.As shown in the figure below. I noticed a note in the data manual stating that a periodic reset is triggered when the supply voltage approaches the POR threshold. This seems similar to the situation we encountered. However, we are not sure at the moment because the supply voltage we captured at this moment is approximately 2.7V. Additionally, what kind of cycle does this periodic reset follow? We want to know if this is the reason why we detected this reset signal fluctuation at the moment of power-down. I hope to receive your reply. Thank you
